Cleaning
TDC devices
The TDC devices are maintenance-free. Maintenance is not necessary to ensure proper
operation.
Depending on the surroundings, it is recommended that dust be removed from the
housing.
SICK sensors
SICK sensors in the TiM series are maintenance-free. Maintenance is not necessary to
ensure compliance with laser class 1.
To achieve the full optical output of the sensor, the front screen should be regularly
checked for contamination.

Switch off the device during cleaning.
▸
Get rid of any contamination on the front screen to avoid incorrect measurements.
▸
Wipe the front screen with a soft, wet sponge.
▸
Then dry the front screen with a clean cloth.
WARNING
Damage to the front screen
The front screen is made of polycarbonate. The optical output is weakened by scratches
and streaks on the front screen.
▸
Do not use aggressive cleaning agents.
▸
Do not use abrasive cleaning agents.
▸
Avoid scratching and chafing movements on the front screen.
