To the right of the input fields used for interface definition, there is a window containing
details on the expected bandwidth for data transmission. The values are statistical values
which are calculated on the basis of the sensors connected to the TDC device.
The
Description
window contains a brief description of each of the configured interface
parameters.
It is impossible to describe all of the input parameters available in the following sections.
▸
For this reason, it is recommended that you use the explanations provided for each of
the fields when you are entering information. You can see these by hovering the cursor
over the respective input field.
Physical interface details
1. Enter a meaningful name for the telemetry element in the
Description
field.
2. When a telemetry element is set up, the system assigns a unique identifier in the
Name
field. This cannot be changed manually.
3. The interface that is currently selected is preset in the
Signal source
field.
4. In the
Sensor type
field, select the type of sensor that is connected to the interface.
The drop-down list includes a range of SICK sensors.
In the example, we are selecting a
UM18
digital sensor. Once a SICK sensor has been
selected, the majority of the parameters under
Conversion
,
Filtering
, and
Sampling
are preset.
If the sensor you are looking for does not appear in the list, select the option
Standard
digital sensor
(for a digital sensor). Default values will be entered for the parameters,
which will then need to be updated with the correct data for the sensor in question.
