Configuration Guide
Configuring PoE Configuration
Ruijie(config)#
interface fastEthernet
interface-id
Enters the interface configuration mode and specifies the
physical port to be configured
Ruijie(config-if)#
poe alloc-power
int
Sets the maximum power of the port, which ranges from 0 to 30
in watts with a precision of one decimal point
Ruijie(config-if)#
no poe alloc-power
Cancels the settings of the power allocated to the port (The
switch will stop supplying power to the port if the switch works in
static mode)
For example, you can run the following commands in turn to set the maximum power of a port on a switch in static mode to
20 W and then enable the PoE function on this port:
Ruijie# configure
Ruijie(config)# interface FastEthernet 0/1
Ruijie(config-if)# poe alloc-power 20
Ruijie(config-if)# poe enable
Ruijie(config-if)# end
If the static mode is applied for power management, the power allocated to a port must be configured so that power
will be supplied on the port.
This command is valid for a switch in static mode only.
For a switch in static mode, setting the power to be allocated to a port to 0 will cause the port to be powered off and
no longer powered on.
Setting the Reserved Power of the System
The power consumption of a PoE switch working in energy-saving mode will be calculated according to the actual power
consumption of PDs on its ports. If the power consumption of the PDs greatly fluctuates, the PoE switch may be
overloaded to cause damage to PoE devices.
The following commands are available on each Ruijie PoE switch to set the reserved power of the system to ensure that
the PoE switch provides redundant power and the current power consumption of the PoE switch does not go beyond the
power capacity of the PoE switch itself.
By default, the reserved power of the system is 0%.
Command
Function
Ruijie#
configure
Enters the global configuration mode
Ruijie(config)#
poe reserve-power
int
Sets the percentage of the reserved system power to the
total system power, which ranges from 0% to 50%
Ruijie(config)#
no poe reserve-power
Restores the default reserved power, which is 0%
For example, you can run the following commands in turn to set the reserved power of the system to 20%:
Ruijie# configure
Ruijie(config)# poe reserve-power 20
Ruijie(config)# no poe reserve-power
