Configuring PoE Configuration
The commands for setting the reserved power of the system are valid only when the energy-saving mode is applied
for power management on the current PoE switch.
Setting the reserved power of the system for a switch in energy-saving mode may cause powered-on ports to be
powered off.
Setting the Uninterrupted Power Supply Function with Hot Startup
If you need to restart a PoE switch in practical applications (e.g. following an upgrade of the PoE switch management
software) and many PDs are connected to and supplied with power by the PoE switch, directly restarting the PoE switch
will cause the PDs to be powered off and then powered on again. In that case, the PDs will be interrupted for a period of
time.
Ruijie switches provide uninterrupted power supply with hot startup, so that the PDs currently working will not be powered
off during the hot startup of the PoE switch. The system will return to the status defined in the configuration file after the
hot startup process is complete.

For example, you can run the following commands in turn to enable and then disable uninterrupted power supply with hot
startup:
Ruijie# configure
Ruijie(config)# poe uninterruptible-power
Ruijie(config)# no poe uninterruptible-power
Ruijie(config)# end
Save the settings after enabling or disabling the uninterrupted power supply function, so that the settings take effect
upon the next startup. If you forget to save the settings or have changed the PoE configurations after saving the
settings, a message will be displayed, asking you to save the settings.
Setting the Power Alarm Threshold of the System
RFC 3621, which is the standard Management Information Base (MIB) for PoE, defines a configuration item named
pethMainPseUsageThreshold to set the power alarm threshold of the system.
A Command Line Interface (CLI) is also available on Ruijie switches to set the power alarm threshold of the system. This
CLI provides the same function and configuration as pethMainPseUsageThreshold for setting the power alarm threshold
of the system in the MIB. After pethNotificationControlEnable is set in the MIB, the MIB can receive power alarms.
