Configuring PoE Configuration
Ruijie(config)#
poe warning-power
int |
no poe
warning-power
Sets the power alarm threshold of the system, which
ranges from 0 to 99 in % and is 99 by default (in
compliance with RFC3621 MIB)
Ruijie(config)#
end
Returns to the global configuration mode
Ruijie#
write
Saves the settings to ensure that the settings take effect
upon the next startup
For example, you can run the following commands in turn to set the power alarm threshold of the system to 80%:
Ruijie# configure
Ruijie(config)# poe warning-power 80
Ruijie(config)# end
The CLI is also set after you set the power alarm threshold of the system by specifying the value of
pethMainPseUsageThreshold
in the MIB.
Setting the Trap Sending Function of the System
You may need to control whether to send trap notifications when the system power changes or a port of the switch is
powered on or off in practical applications. RFC 3621, which is the standard Management Information Base (MIB) for PoE,
defines a configuration item named pethNotificationControlEnable to control the sending of such trap notifications.
CLI commands are also available on Ruijie switches to set the trap sending function of the system.
Command
Function
Ruijie#
configure
Enters the global configuration mode
Ruijie(config)#
poe notification-control enable
Enables PoE trap sending
Ruijie(config)#
no poe notification-control enable
Disables PoE trap sending
For example, you can run the following commands in turn to enable the system to send trap notifications about system
power and port power-on/power-off:
Ruijie# configure
Ruijie(config)# poe notification-control enable
Ruijie(config)# no poe notification-control enable
Ruijie(config)# end
The CLI controls the sending of trap messages only defined in RFC 3621 and is invalid for the sending of trap
messages not defined in RFC 3621.
If the power alarm threshold changes from a value not larger than the system power to a value larger than the
system power after the trap sending function as defined in RFC 3621 is enabled, a trap notification will be sent once.
If subsequently the alarm threshold is always larger than the system power, no trap will be sent again. If the power
alarm threshold changes from a value higher than or equal to the system power to a value smaller than the system
power, a trap notification will be sent once. If subsequently the alarm threshold is always smaller than the system
power, no trap will be sent again.
