Layer 2 Functional Specifications
1. Ping
Sends a 64-byte packet query to another device or computer over the TCP/IP
network and waits for a reply.
2. TFTP & HTTP Upgrade
ZoneSwitch configuration may be downloaded/uploaded via HTTP or TFTP.
Firmware may also be upgraded via HTTP or TFTP. A system reboot must be
performed to execute new configuration or firmware settings.
3. Restore Factory Default
System restore can be executed to reset configuration to factory default settings.
4. Storm (Rate) Control
The ingress rate limit for Broadcast, Multicast, or DLF packets can be configured
individually for each port. The rate can be configured from 1,000kbps to
1,000,000kbps.
5. Ethernet Port Attributes
Ethernet ports can be configured as half duplex, full duplex or auto negotiation.
Port speeds may be configured as 10M, 100M or auto negotiation. All ports are
AUTO-MDI/MDIX and the flow control can be enabled/disabled for each port.
6. Mirror
Supports port mirroring n to 1 with maximum 8 monitored ports per system.
7. Static TRUNK & LACP
Supports maximum 4 TRUNK groups and up to 8 members per group.
8. Jumbo Frame
Supports up to 9K bytes and it can be configured per port.
