Accessing the Switch
Overview
Overview
The Ruckus Wireless ZoneSwitch 4124/4224 is designed to assist attached hardware in
switching frames based on Layer 2 smart switch technologies. This chapter introduces how
to access the switch to establish enterprise and carrier class network environments.
The ZS4124/4224 comes standard with three ways for a network administrator to access,
configure, manage, and control the smart switch locally or remotely. Users can access the
switch via Graphical User Interface (GUI), Command Line Interface (CLI), or the Simple
Network Management Protocol (SNMP) Interface. Detailed descriptions and examples of
how to manage and configure the features of the GUI and CLI are presented in separate
chapters.
NOTE: SNMP interface access may be established through the use of proprietary
Management Information Base (MIB) level software packages for multiple Microsoft
Windows operating system platforms. You should consult your preferred MIB browser and
its associated user manual for detailed SNMP interface access setup.
