Overview
Please read this User Guide carefully before using the ZoneSwitch 4124/4224. The
ZoneSwitch 4124/4224 is designed as a Layer 2 smart switch that connects network
segments and/or network devices for enterprise and carrier class network environments.
The manufacturer advises no to use this device for any other purpose, as doing so may
cause damage to the equipment or harm to users.
Personnel
This device is designed for specific applications and should be installed by qualified
personnel who have computer networking and switch management experience for both
installation and usage. General users without adequate knowledge of switches and
networking are advised not to install or use the device without professional assistance.
Installation
The ZoneSwitch 4124/4224 and all its components (including cables and power cord)
should be placed in a dry, indoor area, away from any wet or damp environments with
exposure to moisture, sprays, drips, or running water.
Keep the device away from extreme environments beyond the recommended operating
temperature 0ºC to 45ºC (32ºF to 113ºF).
Only install and operate the device in a well ventilated area with adequate air flow for heat
dissipation.
This device should be installed in a standard EIA 19-inch wide rack or an appropriately
equipped sturdy desktop or shelf area.
Do not mount or operate the device in a rack with uneven mechanical loading.
Power Supply
Only use the power cord provided with your device; do not attempt to use another power
cord. Ensure that the power cord is always easily accessible and that the voltage specified
corresponds to the power socket to which you connect it. In case of a thunderstorm, power
surge, or electrical interference, please disconnect the device to avoid damaging it.
The device should be grounded using an electrical power strip or surge suppressor to
protect from circuit overloading.
