Multiple Spanning Tree Commands
spanning-tree mst instance port-priority
Configures port priority for a specific instance.
Command Mode: Interface Configuration
Syntax
spanning-tree mst <instance> port-priority <priority>
Description
■
<instance>
- Specifies the instance to configure. May be an integer from 1 to 31.
■
port-priority <priority> - Specifies the valid priority values. Values are 0, 16, 32, 48, 64,
80, 96, 112, 128, 144, 160, 176, 192, 208, 224, and 240. All other values are rejected.
Example
!Configures port 4 for instance 8 to port priority 64.

GigabitEthernet 1/4
Switch(config-if)#
spanning-tree mst
8 port-priority 64
Switch(config-if)#
spanning-tree mst instance cost
Configures port path cost for an instance.
Command Mode: Interface Configuration
Syntax
spanning-tree mst <instance-id> cost <cost>
Description
■
<instance-id>
- Specifies the instance ID. May be an integer from 1 to 31.
■
cost <cost>
- Specifies port path cost. May be an integer from 0 to 200000000. Default
is auto (0).
Example
!Sets port path cost to 1000 on port 4 for instance 8
