Example 6: To Generate Arbitrary Waveform
How to generate an arbitrary waveform (Sinc) with 2MHz Frequency, 5V
RMS
Amplitude and 0 V
DC
Offset.
The operation steps:
1.
Set the Type of the Arbitrary Waveform.
(1)
Press Arb

Load, to choose the built-in waveform.
(2)
Press BuiltIn
Æ
Sinc, There are five built-in arbitrary waveforms. Choose Sinc,
and press any key to return the Main Menu of Arb.
2.
Set the Frequency.
(1)
Press Pulse
Æ
Freq/Period and choose Freq which will display in reverse color.
(2)
Input “2” from the keypad and choose the unit “MHz” to set the Frequency as
2MHz.
3.
Set the Amplitude.
(1)
Press Ampl/ HiLev and choose Ampl which will display in reverse color.
(2)
Enter “5” from the keypad and choose the unit “V
RMS
” to set the Amplitude as 5
V
RMS
.
4.
Set the Offset.
(1)
Press Offset /LoLev to choose Offset which will display in reverse color.
(2)
Enter “0” from the keypad and choose the unit “V
DC
” to set the Offset as 0 V
DC
.
When the Arbitrary type of a Waveform, Frequency, Amplitude and Offset were set,
the generated waveform is shown in Figure 3-6.

Right now, the selected waveform is appointed to Arb. This waveform will put out
once the key is pressed. Press Arb to confirm what kind of waveform is selected.
