4.2.5.1 Trigger Input
Active:
The Active check box is not selected (inactive) by default. When
selected, the ping will occur upon receipt of the input trigger pulse. If the
trigger pulse rate exceeds the sonar‟s actual maximum ping rate for that range
setting, some trigger input pulses may be dropped. Deselecting the check box
will return the sonar to ping at the rate dictated by the settings on the Main
Sonar Settings tab.
4.2.5.2 Trigger Output
A TTL trigger out pulse, approximately synchronous with the transmit pulse, is available
via a BNC connector marked Trig Out on the rear panel of the transceiver (see
appendix
C.3.3 Transceiver Cable Connections
).
Figure 4: Example of Trigger Output: Delay = 0, Pulse Width = 1
Active:
The Active check box is selected by default. When selected, a pulse
will be generated in conjunction with the sonar ping.
Delay:
The default setting is 0.00ms. This setting allows the operator to
specify how many milliseconds after the sonar ping the output pulse will be
sent.
Pulse Length:
The default setting is 1.00ms. This setting allows the operator
to change the pulse length of the transmitted output signal. For the SeaBat
7125 SV, the pulse length plus the delay must be slightly less than 20ms.
Apply:
Click the Apply button to finalize changes.
4.2.5.3 1PPS Polarity
Rising edge:
By default, the SeaBat system accepts positively polarized
(rising edge) 1PPS pulses to perform accurate time stamping.
