Programming The Type C Function Card 4-27
MEASure Subsystem
The commands in the MEASure subsystem instructs the 2461
TYPE C on the type of measurement to be taken and the input
channel to be used. They also initiate the specified
measurement(s) and return the results when they complete.
The input settings are not changed by these commands. These
must be set using the commands in the INPut subsystem.
The SCALar commands program the 2461 TYPE C for one
measurement. The ARRay commands program the counter for
multiple measurements as specified by the <array size>
parameter. The limit for this parameter is 16384.
If the MEASure command is sent while the 2461 TYPE C is
initiated, then measurement in progress is aborted before the
reconfiguration takes place.
The MEASure commands accept an expected value and
required resolution parameters. If both these values are
specified, and if they are valid, then the number of digits of
resolution is determined.
The MEASure? command is equivalent to the CONFigure and
READ? combination. READ?, in turn, is broken down into two
additional commands, INITiate:IMMediate and FETCh?
Note that, in the case of ARRay-type measurement, the time-out
period (refer to SYSTem:TIMeout) may have to be increased.
See MEASure command summary on the next page.
