•
ADIC Scalar 24, ADIC Scalar 100, ADIC Scalar i500, or ADIC Scalar
i2000
•
Quantum DXi (default) or Quantum DX5000
If you select a library such as the
ATL P1000 or ATL P7000
, the
DXi3500/DXi5500 appears as the appropriate library to the host and
backup application. If you select
Quantum DXi and Quantum DX5000
the host and backup application recognize the devices as a
Quantum
DXi
or
Quantum DXi5000
system respectively.
Caution:
If you are planning to replicate or recover to/from a
DXi7500, do NOT use the Scalar 24 library emulation.
If you have already configured your VTL for Scalar 24
and you need to recover a partition that has been
replicated to a DXi7500, refer to the special recovery
instructions in the troubleshooting section (see
Recovering a Scalar 24 VTL from a DXi7500
on
page 138).

Select the number of tape drives available to the host and backup
application in this partition.
The following tape drives are available:
•
Quantum DLT7000 (default), SDLT 320, SDLT 600, or DLT-S4
•
HP LTO-2 or HP LTO-3
•
IBM LTO-1, LTO-2 or LTO-3
The
Default
partition contains 6 tape drives at the time of installation,
however, you can change the number of drives.
Note:
Quantum recommends that the device configuration be set
to DXi5500 inquiry strings for improved performance. If
your backup application does NOT support DXi3500 and
DXi5500, select
ATL P1000 or ATL P7000
.
Note:
If all tape drives are assigned to other partitions, you must
unassign one or more tape drives to make them available
for a new partition.
