Recovering Media from a DXi7500

If you have you need to recover a VTL partition from a DXi7500 and the
tape cartridge capacity is set for larger than the native capacity for the
tape drive, you must use the following instructions:

Failback the VTL partition from the DXi7500 to the DXi3500/5500.

Recover the VTL partition on the DXi3500/DXi5500.
It is recommended NOT to set the tape cartridge capacity larger than
the native capacity for the tape drive if you plan to continue to
replicate the partition to a DXi7500.

The VTL will be recovered correctly UNLESS the VTL
emulation is set for Scalar 24.

Poor de-duplication
ratios.
Server side software compression,
encryption, or multiplexing should NOT be
used with the DXi3500/DXi5500 system.
This can impair the systems ability to de-
duplicate data.
