Recovering a Scalar 24 VTL from a DXi7500
4
If you have you need to recover a VTL partition from a DXi7500 and the
partition emulation is set to Scalar 24, you must use the following
instructions:
1
Failback the Scalar 24 VTL partition from the DXi7500 to the
DXi3500/5500.
2
Recover the Scalar 24 VTL partition on the DXi3500/DXi5500. The
recovered partition will be called Quantum DXi.
3
Edit the partition and change the VTL library emulation back to
Scalar 24 and change the name back to the original VTL partition
name.
It is recommended NOT to use Scalar 24 as the library emulation if
you plan to continue to replicate the partition to a DXi7500.
The replication was
paused and a
Failure
event was generated
in the
Replication
Events
page.
This is normal. When a replication is paused,
a failure event is generated on the
Replication Events
page. They system will
continue the replication when you click
Resume
.
Replication was
disabled while a
replication was in
process and the
replication completed.
If you click
Disable
during a replication in
process, the system will complete the entire
replication and then disable replication on
the system. The system will be unable to
replicate until you click
Enable
.
Enabled replication on
a VTL partition or
NAS share and
received the following
Event:
No destination
host is specified for
replication
.
You must configure the target system prior
to configuring the source. If the target
system is not configured first, you will not be
able to designate the replication target.
NAS share cannot be
mounted using NFS 4
protocol.
Currently, the DXi3500/DXi5500 only
supports NFS 2 and NFS 3 protocols. NFS 4
is NOT supported.
