Connection diagram, 12 pole connector to the controller
Ground wires (2 and 10) are connected internally to a common ground point. This ground point serves
as potential for all indicated voltages. The serial interface has a galvanic isolation and can be
connected to devices of different ground point, too.
Note
: Input signals being connected to the analog output can cause damages to the LMA/B.
So never connect the analog output (pin 5, pink) with supply voltage (pin 1, brown).
This will destroy the sensor.
All LMA/B outputs are always protected against short circuit.
Note
: The connection cable is provided with flying
leads. It is the user’s responsibility to take
adequate measures to prevent a short circuit. In any case the screen wire is to be connected
to low-resistance earth.

14.3 Distance range
Distance range varies according to the surface properties and reflectivity of the object to be measured.
Reflectivity indicates the amount of light which the target is able to reflect and which is received by the
LMA/B. Surface properties have an influence on the possible distance between sensor and target. The
better the surface properties and reflectivity, the higher the max distance range.
