Basic Operation Procedure of Sensor

3-3-1

First Measurement

This section describes the basic operating procedures of measurement with HL-D3

series product. In this section, the use of I/O terminal with an external device is

omitted.

STEP1

Installation of HL-D3SMI

In the HL-D3 series, the PC application software

"HL-D3SMI"

is basically used for settings.

Install the

"HL-D3SMI"

in the PC in advance.

“1-5-5 Installation of HL-D3SMI”

STEP2

First power supply

First, connect the controller to the sensor head.

“1-2-1 System Configuration”

Make sure that the +24VDC power supply is connected correctly.

“1-5-1 Connection Method of Power Supply”

Check the wires of the laser control input terminal (or

short-circuit of the short bar).

Connect the controller to the PC with an accompanying USB cable.

Laser emission starts after the system is turned on and starts up

correctly. The laser radiation indicators of the head and the

HEAD indicator of controller light.

“2-1 Functions and Arrangement of I/O Terminal Block”

If the indicator does not light, the sensor head may not be

correctly connected or the laser control input terminal may be

disconnected. Check the connection again.

“1-5-2 Connection Method of Terminal Block”

* Approximately 20 to 30 seconds are required from power-on to

start-up of the sensor.

Start the "HL-D3SMI" with the PC.

Press the

"Online (black letter)"

button on the main screen to

activate the

"Online (red letter)"

status.

"LOAD"

the settings in the sensor once.

Now, the sensor is ready for measurement.
