Whole-synchronizing measurement mode
(MZBC not allowed)
The whole shape in width is measured at the same time. The whole measuring
range is measured with the same radiation level. The multi-zone beam control
(MZBC) function cannot be used.
There is no mixture of different reflection rates. The overall width of a wor k-
piece with small traveling distance can be simultaneously measured at a high
speed. When the sensitivity adjustment is set to automatic, the sensitivity is
controlled in the entire measuring range.
Advantage
Can measure the overall range with an electronic shutter for a high
speed traveling workpiece.
Caution
May not give stable detection for a workpiece with mixture of black
and white parts or workpiece with curves or uneven surfaces.

Constant pitch measurement mode (MZBC al-
lowed)
It is the mode to take measurements sequentially from reduction of the overall
processing time by increasing the pitch which is usually measured at 25 μm
for the width measuring range and by reducing the number of data.
The pitch can be specified from 0 (501 points) to 2 mm maximum (7 points).
The "wide cell" function that stabilizes the measurement value with p e-
ripheral data can also be used.
Advantage
Can perform stable detection for a workpiece with black and white
parts with the MZBC function and can shorten the sampling cycle.
Caution
When the number of measuring points is reduced, the resolution or
linearity may be low.
