Setting up
Rack
This device is designed to be put on a rack. It can be installed on an EIA (ANSI/EIA-310-D) standard rack.
Installing the device on the rack
Use supplied or rack-specified installation screws and support angles to attach the device to the rack. Install the device as according to the
rack specification.
Firmly install the device to the rack using the four rack installation screws.

Make sure to turn off the power before installing the device on the rack.

When switching off the device, make sure to follow the procedures in “Switching off the device” (
x
page 37).

Installation of the device on the rack must be performed by two or more persons.
f
Be careful not to let the device slip and fall during installation.
f
The temperature around the device inside the rack where the device is installed should be within the following range.
g
When using at a location lower than 1 400 m (4 593') above sea level: between 0 °C (32 °F) and 40 °C (104 °F)
g
When using the device between 1 400 m (4 593') and 2 700 m (8 858') above sea level: 0 °C (32 °F) to 35 °C (95 °F).

Do not install the device near other devices that produce a considerable amount of heat such as power amps. If such conditions cannot be
avoided, set a space of 1U or more between this device and other devices.

Do not use the device under the condition with the intake/exhaust ports of the device blocked or intake/exhaust air interfered.
f
After installing the device on the rack make sure to open up some space around the rack for installing or removing power cords and signal
cables.
f
To easily form a 2-POWER SUPPLY configuration by installing the optional POWER SUPPLY, perform the following procedure.

Carefully check the Caution label at the back of the device.
g
Remove the power cord connector from the <AC IN> terminal.
During installation, after confirming that the <POWER> switches of both POWER SUPPLY units are on the <
h
> side, fully isolate them from
the power supply by removing the power cord connector from the <AC IN> terminal.
Caution
When two power-supply units are inserted, be certain to turn off both power supplies before starting the servicing.
Description on the caution label
