Precautions for use
Cautions when transporting

When transporting this device, avoid excessive vibration and impacts. Doing so may damage the internal components and
result in malfunctions.
Cautions when installing
r
Do not install this device outdoors.
This device is designed for indoor use only.
r
Do not install this device in the following locations.
f
Places where vibration and impacts occur such as in a car or vehicle: Doing so may cause damage to internal components
or malfunction.
f
Near high-voltage power lines or near motors: Doing so may interfere with the operation of this device.
r
Do not install the device at elevations of 2 700 m (8 858') or higher above sea level.
Doing so may shorten the life of the components and result in malfunctions.
r
Ask a qualified technician or your dealer when installing optional accessories to the
device.
Be sure to ask a qualified technician or your dealer when installing optional accessories such as the interface board or the
POWER SUPPLY since static electricity from these devices may damage the device.

Ask a qualified technician or your dealer to install the cable wiring for DIGITAL LINK
connection.
Image and sound may be disrupted if cable transmission characteristics cannot be obtained due to inadequate installation.

Before using the device, take sufficient shielding measures when installing it in a
location which is prone to static electricity.

When this device is used at a location, where static electricity occurs often, such as on a carpet, communications of the
DIGITAL LINK and the wired LAN are disconnected more often.
In such cases, use an anti-static mat and keep possible sources of noise and static electricity away from the device and
cables.

In rare cases, the LAN connection is disabled due to static electricity or noise.
In such cases, turn off the device and connected devices once before turning them back on.

The device may not work properly due to strong radio wave from the broadcast
station or the radio.
If there are any equipment or devices that generate strong radio waves near the installation location, install the device at a
location sufficiently far from these sources of the radio waves, or cover the LAN cable that is connected to the <DIGITAL LINK>
or <LAN> terminal with metallic foil or piping which is grounded at both ends.

Computer and external device connections

Carefully read this manual when connecting a computer or an external device, including content regarding the use of power
cords and shielded cables.

To assure continued performance and FCC compliance, use only high quality DVI-D interface cable with two ferrite cores for
connecting with the <DVI-U INPUT> and <DVI-U SCALED OUTPUT> terminals.

Power cord
f
Use the supplied power cord only with this device.
r
Interface board for input and output
To use the device, you need to install at least one interface board for input and one interface board for output.
