Calorics test

4.7.1

Description

Caloric tests provide an objective evaluation of the function of the vestibular laby-
rinths.

Irrigation with either water or air induces nystagmus in patients with a functioning 
balance system. The nystagmus resulting from the irrigations in both ears are com-
pared for evaluation.

Position

Duration (s)

Set the test duration of the measurement.

Analysis profile

Select the analysis profile to be used to detect nys-
tagmus in the measurement. The analysis profiles 
can be configured from the menu bar:

Channel distance (°)

Set the distance between the horizontal and vertical 
channel.

Channel scaling (°)

Set the amplitudes displayed for each measure-
ment; 40 will be displayed as -20

Includes nine re-positionings of the patient during 
the test. Follow clinic/hospital procedures.
