Nystagmus analysis settings
3.5.1
Profile A, B, and C
The settings can be accessed from the menu bar:
Settings > Nystagmus analysis >
Profile A, B or C
Three user definable profiles are available for the automatic nystagmus analysis. Each
measurement that needs to be analyzed for nystagmus beats is linked to one of these
profiles. The profiles determine which eye movements count as valid nystagmus beat.
Regarding the default profiles, Profile A is optimal for caloric tests. Profile B is setup
to be less sensitive. In the settings of every test, the user can select the profile to be
used. This is valuable due to the different kinds of nystagmus beats provoked by dif-
ferent stimuli.
None
If you select this item, the software will disable all tests using the specific stimulus
device. You can still use the software to view previously collected data.
Bar Eye Dist
The user must measure the distance from the patient to the calibration bar (cm)
so that Vestlab can determine the stimulus angle (the angle the eyes move from left
to right LED and vice versa). The distance should be entered into the system.
The measurement should result in between 20 and 30 degrees. The standard for
the calibration bar is 200 cm = 20 degrees.
