Otometrics

General test information

 

Editors 

The top part shows the trace of the measurement (blue bar = culmination phase, grey 
bar = fixation period), while the bottom part shows a graphic display of SPV or 
amplitude depending on the measurement performed. To modify the culmination 
phase, click on it (changes to green), then drag it to the new location.

Top part

1. Move the slider to show more of the trace.

If nystagmus beats are detected they are marked with a red or blue dash (begin-
ning of the nystagmus) and a line (SPV of the nystagmus) depending on the 
direction (red: nystagmus is right beating; blue: is left beating).

Click on SPV of nystagmus beat to select. It will be marked green.

2. To delete nystagmus beats, right-click on the selected beat and select 

Edit > 

Delete

, or use delete mark icon 

.

: Horizontal channel

V

: Vertical channel

F

: Fixation channel

M

: Mark channel

To select channels click on the small buttons to the right. To hide or re-display chan-
nels, right-click on the buttons.

By left-clicking and dragging these buttons upwards or downwards you can move the 
level of the traces.

To exclude the beginning and the end of the trace from the calculation of parameters, 
drag the small sliders at the top of the trace.

Amplitude

The amplitude of the marked nystagmus beat in degrees.

Duration

The duration of the marked nystagmus beat in seconds.

SPV

Slow phase velocity of the marked nystagmus beat in 
degrees per second.

Time

Cursor position in seconds.

Declination

The declination of the activated channel at the given 
time index.

Declination is the current position of the eye in degrees 
from the middle (0), the value is positive when the eye 
moves right and negative when the eye moves left.
