Positioning test 

4.6.2

Patient instructions

Instruct the patient to keep his/her eyes as open as possible during the test. Explain 
that the patient will be positioned in various positions and the eye movements will 
be recorded.

The patient should point out to the tester if he/she is feeling sick or dizzy during test-
ing.

4.6.3

Performing the Positioning test

Hallpike-Stenger test 

The patient sits on the bed looking straight ahead with video goggles closed. 

Note · 

All tests should be started immediately after re-positioning the patient to identify 

any nystagmus.
