Nystagmus analysis settings
3.5.2 Culmination
The settings can be accessed from the menu bar:
Settings > Nystagmus analysis >
Culmination
For caloric tests, the culmination period is automatically computed. You can choose
between two methods of computing velocity and three of computing frequency.
Velocity
Highest SPV average over (s) Computes the average velocity of the slow phase
of the nystagmus measured in the given time
period and then detects the highest value.
Fastest nystagmus beats
Detects the highest average slow phase velocity
for the given number of consecutive nystagmus
beats.
Frequency calculation
Culmi/- 15s Counts the nystagmus beats in the 15 seconds
before and after the culmination point of the veloc-
ity computation. This is the recommended setting.
30s after start for 30s
Starts counting the nystagmus beats 30 seconds
after the start of the measurement and counts the
beats for 30 seconds (as during an examination with
Frenzel lenses).
Average
Counts all nystagmus beats during the measure-
ment and then computes the 30 second average.
