Positioning test

The test settings include both Position and Positioning tests. Only Position test
will be explained here.

Positioning test
4.6.1
Description
In contrast to the Position test, the Positioning test provides an objective measure-
ment of eye movement triggered by a change in position.
This test can detect Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV). Nystagmus
caused by BPPV typically occurs with a slight onset delay after the patient is re-posi-
tioned, and it rapidly decreases in severity until absent.
Position
Duration (s)
Set the test duration of the measurement.
Analysis profile
Select the analysis profile to be used to detect nys-
tagmus in the measurement. The analysis profiles
can be configured from the menu bar:

View/Layout
Channel distance (°)
Set the distance between the horizontal and vertical
channel.
Channel scaling (°)
Set the amplitudes displayed for each measure-
ment; 40 will be displayed as -20
°
to + 20
°
on the y-
axis.
Horizontal, vertical
Select the channels to be displayed on the screen.
