Additional SDI Output Features
Video fed to the SDI Output ports on an Ultra can be further modified
as follows:
1. Where the signal is output over dual or quad links and the Ultra
includes a built-in generator, the signals on the subsequent links
can be advanced or delayed relative to the first link.
2. Where the Ultra includes the PHY and PHY_ADV options and
either the GENERATE or the CONVERT option, jitter can be
added at your choice of level and frequency.
3. With the same combination of options, it is also possible to
adjust the amplitude and the slew rate (rise and fall times) of
the output from SDI 4.
These adjustments are all made through the right-hand panel of the
Connections window.
These options are included on the
Ultra in order to allow you to
produce signals with non-optimal characteristics for the purpose of
testing other equipment.
You should note, however, that settings that are made are applied to
all subsequent SDI output, whether from the Analyser/Converter or
from the Generator and regardless of precisely which SDI ports are
being used. The current settings are also saved as part of any
Connections window preset that is created. Care should therefore be
taken to ensure that the settings that are in place remain in line with
the results you want to achieve for the current output.
