Ultra v2.0a User Guide
B-8
B.1.8 Connections needed to display Picture Images on a Monitor
Full resolution picture images of the video being processed by the Analyser/Converter may be
displayed by arranging that the
Ultra
’s User interface is displayed on a suitable monitor and
making ‘Picture’ one of the selections on the Viewer window (as described in Section K).
In the current version, this facility is limited to display on an HDMI monitor: while ‘Picture’ can
also be selected on web-based versions of the User Interface, it is not possible to display full-
resolution images on these versions of the User Interface. Displayed instead is a message advising
that an HDMI monitor is required. The option of displaying the User Interface on a DisplayPort
monitor is to be added in a future version.
Displaying these images on an HDMI monitor
is not
simply a matter of plugging a suitable monitor
into the HDMI output and setting up the Connections window to link the Local User Interface
block to the HDMI Output. All that achieves is a copy of the User Interface exactly as displayed
via the Web (i.e. with no image in the Picture View).
To achieve the desired result, the output from the Analyser/Converter block needs to be linked into
the Local User Interface as illustrated below.
Figure B-3:
Connections needed to display Full-Resolution Images
The steps needed to achieve the required result are as follows:
To display the User Interface on an HDMI monitor:
1.
Plug a suitable HDMI monitor into the HDMI Output port on the
Ultra
.
2.
Display the
Connections
window.
3.
Make a link from the
Analyser/Converter
to the lower of the two squares on the
righthand-side of the
Local User Interface
.
4.
Make a link from the upper square on the
Local User Interface
to the
HDMI Output
.
Note:
The Local User Interface will automatically display when the
Ultra
and the monitor are
powered up.
Note
: The connections needed to achieve the required result mean that is not possible to take output
from the Converter at the same time as Picture images are displayed on the HDMI Monitor.
