V.4 Cloning Test Patterns
Testing the same test pattern under different configuration options is made easy by using the Clone
option offered in the right-click menu. Taking this option creates a copy of the selected
test pattern, the properties of which can then be modified entirely independently of the original
test pattern.
To clone a test pattern:
1.
Select the test pattern that you want to clone.
2.
Right-click on this pattern and take the option to
Clone pattern
.
The different ways in which a test pattern can be configured are described in Section X. Overlaying
a Pattern with a zone plate and changing this zone plate is described in Section W.3.
V.5 Deleting Test Patterns
Test patterns that are no longer needed can be deleted from the display. The main way of deleting
the unwanted items is to use the
Delete
option offered on the Button Bar. An alternative route is
offered by right-clicking. See below for details.
To delete a test pattern from the Generator window:
Note:
The following steps just delete the thumbnail associated with the test pattern: they do not
delete any copy of the image stored on disk. If the pattern isn’t saved on disk in any form, it can
only be recovered by setting it up again from scratch.
Either:
Click on the test pattern you want to delete and take the
Delete
option from the Button
Bar.
Or:
Click on the test pattern you want to delete, then right-click on this pattern and take the
Delete
option from the menu that is displayed.
Note
:
If you simply right-click on the pattern, any pattern that is currently playing out will
remain selected and is in danger of being deleted alongside the pattern you are trying to delete.
To delete more than one test pattern from the Generator window:
1.
Use Ctrl-click to select the test patterns you want to delete.
2.
Either take the
Delete
option in the Button Bar or right-click on one of the selected test
patterns and take
Delete
from the menu that is displayed.
3.
Respond to any message you see.
