D.2 Setting up the Ultra to carry out the Required Conversion
There are five steps to setting up the
Ultra
to carry out a particular format conversion:
1.
Displaying the Connections window.
2.
Linking the input port(s) you will be using to the Analyser/Converter block and sending
the output from that block to the required Output port(s).
3.
Setting the required Output Video Standard.
4.
Setting the required Genlock
5.
Setting the smoothing/sharpening algorithm used in calculating new colour values where
the resolution is changed.
All five steps are used as part of the basic procedure of configuring the
Ultra
described in Section
B. The following sections therefore just outline of the actions required, with pointers to the parts
of Section B where extra information can be found.
Step 1: Displaying the Connections Window
To display the Connections window:
Select the
Connections
tab at the top of the screen:
Step 2: Making the required connections
Connections need to be formed on the Connections window
(i)
Between the input port you are going to use and the input to the Analyser/Converter
block in the central column of the screen display; and
(ii)
Between the output from the Analyser/Converter block and the output port you are
going to use.
Cables also need to be plugged into the selected ports to achieve the required results.
Make the required connections as follows. For further information, see Section B.1.1.
To make the connection between the input and the Analyser/Converter block
1.
Click on the little square on the right-hand side of the required input block in the left-hand
column of the display.
Note:
The DisplayPort input is not supported in the current version.
2.
Drag to the corresponding square on the left-hand side of the Analyser/Converter block.
To make the connection between the Analyser/Converter block
and the output
1.
Click on the little square on the right-hand side of the
Analyser/Converter block.
2.
Drag to the corresponding square on the left-hand side of the
required output block in the right-hand column of the display.
Note:
Where SDI Inputs and/or SDI Outputs are being used, you
also need to set up the list of SDI ports being used as described in
Sections B.1.2 and B.1.3.
