X : Modifying the Output
The signal that results from playing out a test pattern isn’t always going to have exactly the
characteristics that are needed for the testing that you want to carry out. This section describes the
ways in which the Ultra ’s Generator allows you to modify how a test pattern is played out.
Note: Further options are available where the output is directed to the Ultra ’s SDI outputs. See
Section G.

Overview
There are several ways in which the signal coming out of the Ultra ’s Generator can be modified:

Images can be re-sized

The Luma and Chroma content can be adjusted e.g. by specifying a different gamma

Sections of the pattern can be made to pan as the Test pattern is played out.
In some cases, the required adjustment is made by changing how the source file is interpreted: in
others, the change is made to the test pattern.
Both types of change are made through the right-hand panel of the Generator window. Changes to
the test pattern are set in the Test Pattern Properties section of this panel: changes to how the source
image is interpreted are set in the lower section of this panel.

In general, the settings that are made are saved along with the test pattern when that pattern is
saved to disk as described in Section W.4.
