INSTALLATION
Getting Started
To install your new machine, follow the instructions from
Unpacking to Setting the Fax Identification. You must complete
these steps for your machine to operate properly.
If you have purchased an option package for your machine,
refer to the documentation you received with that option.
Where to Install Your Machine
1.
Install your machine in a dust-free location away from direct
sunlight.
2.
Allow several centimetres on each side of the machine to
ensure adequate ventilation.
3.
Make sure that both power and telephone outlets are
available nearby.
4.
Choose a location where the relative humidity is between
20% and 80%, and where the temperature is between 10 °C
and 32 °C.
Unpacking
Before you begin, make sure that all items listed below are
included in your package. Refer to the illustrations in
Component Identification and remove the contents from the
carton placing them on a sturdy surface.

Note: A telephone handset, handset cradle and handset
cable may also be included. If any items are missing, notify
your dealer immediately for a replacement. Keep your
packing materials and carton in case you ever need to
ship or transport the machine.
Caution: Do not ship the machine with the image drum
unit and toner cartridge installed. Refer to Shipping the
Machine later in this user’s guide.
