10. Select with the NO key and then press the YES key.
Note:
If you experience problems communicating with a remote
location, try lowering the G3 communication speed. If this does
not help, turn on G3 echo protection.
11. The display prompts for selection of G3 echo protection. Select
with the NO key, then press the YES key.
Note 1:
If the ISDN option is installed, the display prompts for the
ISDN mode after Step 11.
Press the
YES
key to select G4 or press the
NO
key first and then
the
YES
key to select G4. Select G3 if you know that the remote
fax machine is a non-ISDN machine (during communication
with a non-ISDN fax machine the display on your machine will
indicate a speed less than 64,000 bps.)
If you wish, you may leave this function set to G4. In this
instance, if the remote fax machine is not an ISDN machine, your
fax will automatically fall back to G3. If this happens three times
in succession, the G4 setting will automatically change to G3.
Note 2:
Non-ISDN fax machines may be connected after an ISDN PBX,
some of which do not return the correct data to your fax
machine. If this is the case, your fax machine cannot fall back
to G3. To solve this problem you must manually set this
function to G3.
12. To continue programming One Touch keys, go back to Step 3. If
you are finished programming, press the SELECT FUNCTION key.
13. Lift off the plastic cover above the One Touch label. Using a pencil,
write in the name for your newly-programmed One-Touch key.
Replace the cover.
Note:
If you want to delete any programming for a One Touch key,
follow Steps 1 - 3. At Step 4 press the SPACE One Touch key
until the number is deleted, then press the START key and
continue with Steps 12 - 13.
