Composing and Sending Deco-
mail
The Deco-mail function allows you to make your
i-mode mail (text mail) more visually appealing and
exciting by changing the size and color of the text,
the background color, assigning actions to text, and
inserting lines or images into your message.

If you decorate the message, you can enter fewer
characters than in the i-mode mail which is not
decorated (text mail).
●
Refer to P.380 for the pre-installed “Deco-mail
pictures”.

You can decorate the message
body by selecting decoration menu
and then entering text, or by
selecting the entered text and then
selecting decoration menu.

Checking the decoration
Some decorations cannot be checked on the text
entry screen. In this case, you can check the
decoration by pressing
p
(FUNC) and then
selecting “Preview”.

You can use the following functions from the function menu
when referring to the received mail:

Received mail list screen: “Search mail” “Display all” “Sort”

<Activate camera>

The size of the images shot using the camera function is set
to SubQCIF (128 × 96).
<Undo>
z
After you press “Undo” and return the text or message
decoration to its one previous step, you cannot cancel “Undo”.
z
If you return from the message screen to the new mail screen
and then go back to the message screen, you cannot “Undo”.
(After selecting “Preview” on the message screen to preview
the text, you can undo the step.)

When you have included a phone number, e-mail address,
URL or a link to an i-
α
ppli in an i-mode mail message, it is
underlined in the preview screen. However, the Phone To (AV
Phone To), Mail To and Web To functions cannot be used.

If a mail is exchanged with PC or devices other than an
i-mode terminal that supports Deco-mail, decorations may not
be displayed correctly.
z
If you forward received Deco-mail or quote Deco-mail in a
reply, inserted images and decorations appear as quoted in
the message.
z
If you quote or forward Deco-mail that includes an image that
cannot be sent as mail, the image is deleted.
z
The models which are not compatible with Deco-mail or some
Deco-mail-compatible models receive a mail in which the URL
for viewing the Deco-mail is written. The recipient can view
the Deco-mail by selecting the URL. However, only a mail
without the URL for viewing the Deco-mail is received
depending on the model.
