7. Remove the gravity tank.
The gravity tank (1) may be removed as an assembly with the fitting (2),
ball valve (3), and cam
− lock coupling (4).

8. Remove gravity tank cap from gravity tank and dispose of material (if
necessary).
9. Unscrew cam − lock coupling, fitting, and ball valve (if necessary).
10. Remove hose clamp securing gravity tank to fitting (if necessary).
11. Remove fitting (2) from gravity tank (if necessary). See Figure 10-26.
12. Remove low level sensor (if equipped). Refer to
Removal and
Installation, Low Level Sensor (page 10 − 26) for low level sensor
removal procedure.
Installation
Installation of the gravity tank is in the reverse order of removal. Note the
following:
Hand tighten fitting to gravity tank until it is snug.
Hand tighten hose clamp until it is snug.
Hand tighten ball valve to fitting until it is snug.
Hand tighten cam − lock coupling to ball valve until it is snug.
CAUTION:
Apply Loctite 577, or equivalent thread sealer, to fitting. Only apply
thread sealer to threads that mate with ball valve. Do not apply thread
sealer to fitting threads that contact gravity tank.
Apply Loctite 577, or equivalent thread sealer, to cam − lock coupling.
Be careful not to kink or otherwise damage electrical harness
connectors.
