6.  Maintenance 

  AUTOMATIC PETRO PYROLYSIS MERCURY ANALYZER – MERCURY/PE-1000

 Replacing the septum 

(10) Verify that the power has been turned off. 

Before starting ensure to let it cool down for approximately 30 minutes after 

turning off the power as it is very dangerous to work on during use. 

(11) Open the front cover of the measuring section. 

(12) Loosen the nut of the joint connected to the sample injection section, and 

disconnect the Teflon tube. 

 

 

(13) Loosen the lower screw of the sample injection section, and remove the sample 

injection section. 

 

 

(14) 

Loosen the upper screw of the sample injection section, and remove it. 

 

(15) 

Push the septum out using a metal rod, for example, and replace it. 

(16) 

Install the sample injection section in reverse order. 

(17) 

Check for any leakage in accordance with 6.4.1. 

(18)  Readjust the sample injection position of the HT-300A in accordance with 6.4.5.
