Replacing the CompactFlash unit subassembly
Installing a
CompactFlash card
To install and restore the image on a replacement CompactFlash card, complete
the following steps.
Caution
You must purchase replacement preformatted CompactFlash cards from Network
Appliance.
Step
Action
1
Slide the CompactFlash card (the CompactFlash card and adapter
unit) into the slot on the front of the CompactFlash card reader.

Reinstall the front bezel by aligning the pins on the bezel with the
holes on the front panel of the chassis, and then pushing the bezel
straight onto the front panel.

Turn on the power switch to the chassis.

Interrupt the boot process by pressing the Delete key during the
memory test.

Enter the following command at the
ok>
prompt, and then run the
CompactFlash card diagnostics:
sys-diag
See the Diagnostics Guide for information about running specific
diagnostic tests.

Exit the diagnostics to return to the
ok>
prompt.

Boot the system by entering the following command at the
ok>
prompt:
boot
