Appendix A – The PBX Interface Cable
The cable used to connect the Max’s T1/E1 port to the PBX’s T1/E1
consists of a length of RJ-48 STP3 (Shielded Twisted Pair class 3)
cable with a shielded RJ-45 male connector at each end, wired as per
the following table.
Common CAT5 cable and connectors may be used as an alternative
to shielded cable, but they do not provide protection from
interference where the cable run is lengthy or sources of
electromagnetic radiation are present.
