Clearing a Password

In case you forget a password to log in System Utility or Power On Password, you can clear passwords by
operating the system maintenance switch SW5.
To operate the system maintenance switch SW5, follow the procedure below.
Turn the system maintenance switch: SW5 into ON in accordance with

Press POWER Switch to turn on the power.

Press the <F9> key during POST execution.
3.
The following message is displayed on the screen and then POST will be stopped.
4.
When POST stops, press the POWER switch to turn the power OFF.

Turn the system maintenance switch: SW5 into OFF again in accordance with
Chapter 2 (7.3.2

Tips
If the <F9> key is not pressed, POST will proceed normally without displaying the
message. However, the password will be cleared. In that case, turn off the power
after waiting until POST is completed.
