5 MAINTENANCE
5.1 INTRODUCTION
This chapter explains daily maintenance of the printer.
5.2 REPLACING CONSUMABLES
This section explains when to replace ink cassettes, roll fabric and the procedures for replacement.
5.2.1 Replacing ink cassettes
Read the following for information on when and how to replace ink cassettes.
5.2.1.1 Replacement time
Replace ink cassettes under the following conditions.
a. The ink remaining in the ink cassette is low.
•
Printing operation is continued.
•
Prepare new ink cassettes before they are totally empty.
•
The following message is displayed on the operation panel :
Ready to Print
Feed
Cleaning
Cancel
LeverUp
→
NearEnd

Slot number corresponding
with the almost empty
cassette
b. The ink cassette becomes empty.
•
Printing operation stops.
•
Replace with a new ink cassette as soon as possible.
•
The following message is displayed on the operation panel :
InkStatus
No Ink

When the ink runs out or is low, the ink colour is indicated as follows:
o
1-8: The number of the ink cassette slot
o
All: All inks
