5.13. - NMEA Connection (Monitor III only)
5.13.1. - In order that the Unit can read the NMEA outputs all NMEA
instrumentation (that remote monitoring is required) must either be left
powered on or be wired such that the Monitor system can power up the
NMEA equipment. For the
‘
power up
’
option an always on feed is required
to the power in terminal of the NMEA Switching Relay. Likewise on the
switched side of the NMEA relay, a feed to each NMEA device that will be
monitored is required. When switched this needs to power up the NMEA
device without any other manual switching. NB - The precise configuration
of these connections will vary depending on the configuration of the
existing wiring, for this reason
IT IS STRONGLY RECOMENDED THAT
A QUALIFIED MARINE ELECTRITIAN CARRIES OUT ALL WIRING AFTER THE
SWITCH RELAY.
5.13.2.
–
To wire to the Switch Relay
–
Channel 8 is the default set NMEA
switch, if channel 8 has not been reconfigured connect: -
POSITIVE / RED wire of the relays coil to one of the PowerOut terminals.
NEGATIVE / BLACK wire of the relays coil to terminal Q (Channel 8)
5.13.3. -
IT IS STRONGLY RECOMENDED THAT A QUALIFIED MARINE
ELECTRITIAN CARRIES OUT ALL WIRING AFTER THE SWITCH RELAY. On the
Switch side of the relay Connect: -
The switched feed such that it provides a switched feed to all (but only)
monitored NMEA devices.
5.13.4.
–
The NMEA signalling input terminal X is non configurable. If more
than one NMEA device is to be monitored additional NMEA equipment will
be required
–
refer to the NMEA Equipment Instructions. Connect: -
The final NMEA signalling input conductor to terminal X
5.14. - Tamper Connections
5.14.1. - Some sensors have a tamper protection where regardless of
alarm state (armed/disarmed) if, e.g. a cover is removed or a wire cut, the
alarm will be triggered.
