7. - Configure unit
7.1. There are various configuration options which are set using SMS text
messages.
7.2. - All of the commands sent to the Monitor System
must begin with
the correct password
and
each entry separated by a comma
(e.g.
Secret,status
) . Throughout this manual it is assumed that the default
password has not been changed.
7.3. - The Monitor system
will reply to all messages
sent to it with the
correct password.
7.4. - Nothing sent to the unit (including the password) is case sensitive
and spaces are ignored so can be included or omitted as preferred.
7.5. - The default password is
SECRET
, where the password has been
changed use the revised password instead.
7.6. - Initialise the Monitor System
7.6.1. -
Check all connections and cable routing and ensure the in line
fuse is fitted.
7.6.2. - It is recommended for ease not to connect the internal back up
battery until configuration and commissioning have been completed, it
may be necessary to power up and down the unit to make changes, if the
internal battery is connected it will have to be disconnected and
connected in addition to the external supply.
7.6.3. - Power up the unit and allow it to stabilise.
7.6.3.1. -
On initial ‘cold’ start the unit will take a few minutes
to register with the mobile phone provider and up to 30 minutes
(on occasions longer) to locate and register with the Global
Positioning Satellites (GPS).
