WAN Port Setup
The EXTender has two WAN ports (WAN 1 and WAN 2). The ports communicate via an RS-232, RS-530 or
V.35 interface and provide the connections to the third party network devices.
The following settings are available to the system administrator to manage these WAN ports:

Access the
WAN 1

WAN 2
Menu
using the following path:

Configuration->WAN->WAN_1 (or 2)

The following menu appears. Press the

key to access the
Enabled
parameter.

key to change the availability of the port to: Enabled (
Yes
) or Disabled (

key to accept changes and go back to the Configuration Menu

Description
Enabling/Disabling WAN ports
Individually Enable or Disable a specific WAN port (see below).
Setting the Sync Rate
Sets the specific WAN port to the sync rate (synchronous serial port
transfer speed) of the network device (CSU/DSU).
Setting the Mode (signalling proto-
col)
Choose the interface signaling type used to communicate with the
network device.
Choosing the Interface Type
The interface type for the EXTender 7000 is
DTE
(Data Terminal
Equipment).
