RVP_Over_Frame Relay Configuration
This section provides the necessary information to configure the EXTender 7000 for connection within a
Frame Relay network using the MCK WAN card.
Note:
To prevent Quality of Service (QoS) issues, you
must use separate PVCs for voice and data traffic.
Note: This configuration does not support Local Dialing. To expand this configuration to support Local Dial-
ing, see “Local Dialing Configurations on page’ 66 for detailed instructions.
In the diagram below, the
router
is connected to a WAN port on the EXTender 7000, and the Frame Relay
network is connected to the MCK T1/PRI card. The MCK T1/PRI card acts as a Frame Relay Access Device
(FRAD).

Prerequisites for Configuration
•
The PBXgateway II (at the corporate site) and the EXTender (at the branch office) must be installed
properly.
•
The Frame Relay PVCs are provisioned by your service provider. You will need one PVC for the
extender link (voice) and an additional PVC for each data connection.
•
DLCI numbers for each PVC and LMI type used for the Frame Relay connection.
•
Get the values for the Switch Type, Line Code, and Framing parameters from your service provider
(Telco).
