(All channels in use) If all 24 channels are used, set the default menu to Frame Relay and set all of the
individual DS0 channel menus to use <default>.

(Less than 24 channels) If
less
than 24 channels are being used assign a subset of DS0 channels by
either:
•
Set the default to Frame Relay and then assign all non-Frame Relay DS0 channels to something
else, such as dialup

or

Set the default to something other than Frame Relay and then manually set each DS0 channel
menu to use Frame Relay. Use the channels with higher numbers (17-24) as Frame Relay channel
assignment occurs sequentially (from the lowest to the highest). This will help eliminate assigning a
channel that has already been used.
Verifying Frame Relay Parameters
To verify the Frame Relay parameters are correct monitor the Frame Relay status screen to see if LMI pack-
ets are being exchanged with the Frame Relay network. Once enough packets are exchanged the status
screen will change to indicate that the network connection is
UP
.
Procedure
1.
Use the arrow keys to access the Frame Relay Status menu, as shown below:
