Setting the Local Dialing Parameters
RVPoIP Limitations
This configuration also uses Voice Hairpinning to maintain local voice quality and to avoid long distance
charges. When Voice Hairpinning is being utilized the voice path is local to the EXTender 7000 and only sig-
nalling is sent over the IP network to the PBX (Toll Bypass). When a call is de-hairpinned it is routed in such
a manner that the voice and signalling data are both routed to the PBXgateway II. The PBX will now handle
the call giving the user the PBX features that were not available on the hairpinned call. Note, however that
once a hairpinned call accesses a PBX feature, such as Hold, it will became de-hairpinned.

2:1 Specific - Local Dialing Configurations
The following items have to be set to enable Local Dialing on
BOTH
EXTenders.
1.
Access the default
Local Dialing
menu using the following path:
MI Path
Configuration->Port->Default->Local_Dialing
2.
Set the
Trunk Access Code
to match the prefix set in the PBX to access an outside line.
Note: This value will be the
same
for both EXTender 7000 units.
