Room temperature air (white arrows) enters
the lower portion of the dryer through a gap
formed behind the bottom of the lower front
panel. Therefore it is very important to raise
the bottom of the dryer by installing the feet
properly. This room air is drawn though
the heating system (gas burner or electric
element).
Heated dry air (dark arrows) is then drawn
up the heat duct mounted behind the rear
bulkhead and then into the drum.
As the dry heated air circulates in the drum it
picks up moisture from the wet clothes. The
more space around tumbling clothes for dry
heated air to come Into contact with fabric, the
faster clothes will dry.
The moistened heated air is drawn down
through the lint filter, through the blower and
into the exhaust duct, where it is vented out of
the dryer and out of the building.
