Remove
To remove the tipper and exit transport together, follow these steps:
9)
Allow the tipper heater enough time to cool below 50°C so it is not too hot to touch. Cooling can
take up to 15 minutes, so begin the service appointment with work away from the tipper heater.
10)
Prepare the device for replacing parts by following the steps in section
Device for Removing / Re-installing Modules
. At the end, the device should be powered down with
all external cables safely disconnected and the hopper shuttle parked near the front of the device.
11)
Remove the tipper foil cartridge (see
D99875600 ExpressCard 2000 Installation and Operation
Manual
or
D998200281 ExpressCard 3000 Installation and Operation Manual
for detailed
instructions) and set it aside in a secure location, or offer it to the customer for temporary storage or
secure disposal.
12)
Examine the tipper you are replacing and the tipper in the replacement kit to make sure you are
replacing like with like. There are two models available, which are driven differently by the firmware
and must be replaced with the same model. To differentiate, look at the rear gear on the left side.
The
4:1 gear ratio
model has a gear made of metal (either brass or steel colored), and the
1:1 gear
ratio
model has a gear made of nylon (
). If the tippers do not match, do not proceed.
