Service the Image Printer Module
Follow these steps to service the image printer:
1)
Identify the image printer you are servicing by looking at
below. The image printer on the
left
is referred to as
ECP1
and the image printer on the
right
is referred to as
ECP2
. The steps to
service the image printer are slightly different for each.

Make sure the interior of the ExpressCard is clean (see section
).
Performing image printer maintenance with dirt or debris inside the cover may damage the printer.

Open the image printer and clean its interior if necessary. Dust and other particles are attracted to the
image printer ribbon or card stock by static produced during image printing, and can contaminate
image-printed cards, causing spots or speckles.
4)
If the ExpressCard you are servicing has
ECP1
installed, follow these steps:
a)
Clean the card cleaning roller and replace it if necessary. See

for cleaning information, and section
Remove / Re-install the Image Printer Card Cleaning Roller (EC2000 with ECP1)
replacement steps.
b)
Perform routine cleaning (see
D99875600 ExpressCard 2000 Installation and Operation
Manual
for details). Be sure to use the alcohol cleaning card included with the cleaning kit,
NOT the adhesive card, which is designed only for use in ECP2.
c)
Clean the image print head with the head cleaning pen (see
D99875600 ExpressCard 2000
Installation and Operation Manual
for details).
5)
If the ExpressCard you are servicing has
ECP2
installed, follow these steps:
a)
Deep clean the image printer per

b)
Clean the image printer dust filter per

6)
Check handoff from image printer to XY transport. Adjust if needed (see section
Calibrate Printer to XY Transport Handoff
