15. Connecting a VisTool MK2 PC

Matrix
Enter a reference name for the Matrix Module.
External
Select this checkbox if the matrix to be controlled is external (i.e. not within the system
frame).
External Protocol Type
If
External
is ticked, select the communication protocol type:

- for sapphire, crystal, Nova29 or POWER CORE.

Ember+ Matrix Nr
When using
Ember+
, you must enter an Ember+ Matrix number (from

). This
references the
element (which defines the local consumer number, external
matrix type, matrix name, etc.)
Feedback Mode
When checked, the operator only needs to select the destination and action
Take
.
A connection is made automatically from the corresponding source. For example,
Src Page
1 Matrix Nr 01
would be assigned to
Dest Page 1 Matrix Nr 01
.
Src always green
When checked, the source MF Key on VisTool will always be shown in green. Normally,
source keys change to red when connected.
Take
Assigns the ‘Take’ control signal. This actions the connection once a source and
destination have been prepared.
Reset Selection
When triggered, this control signal will cancel any pre-selections made. This only resets
pre-selections, not connected cross points.
Select Reset Time
This is the amount of time for which selected sources will remain in pre-selection before
they are cancelled. The time resets after each selection.
For example, set the
Select Reset Time
to 5 seconds. If you select a source, you now have
5 seconds in which to select your next source before the first selection is cancelled. Each
time you click to select a new source, this option returns to 5 seconds.
